SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE

Juan is part of the Forensic Technology practice of Berenfeld, Spritzer, Shechter and Sheer. He began working with BSS&S in May, 2006. Prior to that time he worked with the State of Florida for seven years and South Florida’s Regional Transportation Authority for three years. During his employment with SFRTA he managed the Automated Fare Collection Department, served as the Systems Administrator to a multi platform environment, expanding thru Miami Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Juan was also appointed to several regional comities by the SFRTA, Smart Card development Committee, Regional Rules and Regulation Committee and Technical Development Committees.

Juan has worked on a wide range of issues such as misuse of corporate resources, destruction of evidence, employee malfeasance, data integrity issues of corporate investigations and fraud. He has provided forensic testing and supporting documentation for expert witness testimonies on civil matters.

Juan has provided assistance to clients in private business and governmental agencies over the past year. He has assisted in civil matters and has helped provide insight and understanding of complex technical matters to the firm.

Investigative Experience

• Investigation of equipment manufacturer for potential overstatement of financial records, thus causing artificial increase of company’s stock prices.
• Investigation of claims made by a whistle blower stating a media manufacturer misstated its inventory of raw materials in support of bolstering its financial statements and artificially inflating its stock prices.
• Investigation of parties in a law-suit for misuse of company funds and assets for personal gain and family use.
• Investigation of potential destruction of evidence in violation of a court order to preserve all information on the computer. The investigation included analysis of the computer to verify the possibility of scrubbing software utilization.
• Investigation of an employee for violation of employment policies, breach of employment contract, sexual harassment, and expenses account abuse.
• Investigation of parties involved in a law-suit for falsely creating evidence and destruction of actual evidence.
• Investigation of evidence in a litigation matter where parties claimed evidence did not exist for two years and just prior to discover cut-off, the smoking gun evidence was produced.
