John Oakley is a Manager at Berenfeld, Spritzer, Shechter & Sheer, one of South Florida’s largest and most progressive accounting firms with more than 150 professionals in three offices.
Mr. Oakley is a founding member of Berenfeld Spritzer’s forensic technology practice and has consulted for public and private companies and law firms alike on a variety of investigative matters such as extortion, destruction of evidence, embezzlement, ponzi schemes, employee malfeasance, misuse of corporate resources, violations of corporate policies, data preservation, and electronic discovery.
Mr. Oakley is a technology veteran with over 17-years experience in areas such as network administration, database analysis and mining, and computer forensics. Prior to joining Berenfeld Spritzer, Mr. Oakley was a Senior Associate with the forensic technology practice at a national accounting firm. This was preceded by a 5-year career with a Fortune 50 company where he held various managerial positions ranging from network administration to IT systems engineering.
Mr. Oakley is actively involved in a number of local and national organizations, including the Information Systems Audit Control Association, Institute of Computer Forensic Professionals, Sedona Conference and Electronic Crimes Task Force of the U.S. Secret Service in Miami, Florida.
Mr. Oakley has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Drexel University and holds certifications in the area of information systems auditing, computer forensics, and Cisco networking equipment.
